The General English Course consists of 3 levels - basic, intermediate and advance, with a basic communication course catered primarily for non-native speakers. The course are structured in an integrated and carefully planned sequence to include student-centred tasks and projects of increasing complexity to better manage students' expectations.
The basic, intermediate and advance level stresses on all the 4 language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing which will be developed systematically. These courses allow students to develop their ability to communicate effectively in English by improving grammatical knowledge, language skills and confidence. The basic communication stresses on the day to day conversation, building the student's confidence in using the language. Our aim is to increase the student's confidence in the daily use of the language. Using video, audio and authentic texts, we aim to maximize language skill development and effective communication.
The General English Course focuses on the attainment of writing skills and oral communication competence. We assist our students to acquire language proficiency by providing them with the essentials, which include sentence structure and construction, grammar and vocabulary. You will learn to express yourself and communicate effectively in different situations such as social settings, working environment as well as simple business transactions and interactions. Students will also be taught rules of grammar, vocabulary expansion and development, sentence structure and construction and listening, speaking and writing techniques. Students will take part in interactive learning process that include:
- Class discussions
- Word games
- Phonetic exercises
- Audio-visual presentations
- Sharing of tips on how to speed up learning process
- To be able to construct basic sentences in correct grammatical structure
- To acquire basic listening and comprehension skills
- To participate in dialogue and question-and-answer sessions
- To grasp the correct use of vocabulary
- To familiarize with the use of everyday phrases

The focus of this programme is on enhancing practical communication skills, with emphasis on speaking, listening and pronunciation. Students will also be taught basic grammar for everyday application. Many real life examples and practical situations are incorporated into the course syllabus. New vocabulary and grammar are introduced through a variety of stimulating and enjoyable activities. All classes will include phonetic exercises that are geared towards improving on pronunciation, diction and accent. Students are required to participate in active listening and interpretation sessions as well as dialogue sessions incorporating situational conversations and daily expressions.

The Elementary English level focuses on improving the grammar and vocabulary development, speaking, listening, and writing skills of the students so that they have a strong foundation at an early stage. |

The Advanced English level prepares students for admission into overseas academic institutions by providing them with skill sets such as listening to lectures, note-taking, summarizing, report-writing, presentation, etc. Special attention is paid to maximising the individual's ability to communicate fully, followed by a thorough evaluation of language competence and progress. |
