EVANDER Language School has adopted the Student Protection Scheme (SPS) that was launched by Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE) in September 2004.
This scheme was introduced by the Educational Sector of Singapore's Government to help save guard the interest of foreign students studying in Singapore.
Foreign Students who register with a School with Student Protection Scheme (SPS) protection will be ensured the protection of their tuition fees in the event that the school is unable to deliver or complete the course for any reason.
This scheme is optional for Local Students and they may opt into it to ensure greater protection.
Under the SPS, schools can choose to use the ESCROW account or take up an Insurance to protect the student's tuition fees. For Insurance protection, the school will purchase an insurance on the behalf of the student. In the event that the school defaulted, student will get their tuition fee refund from the payout of the Insurance. For ESCROW account, the school fees from the student will be credited into an ESCROW account of a designated bank instead of to the school. The bank will periodically pay to the school a fraction of the school fees base on the service rendered, until the entire school fee is paid. In the event that the school defaulted, student will get their tuition fee refund from ESCROW account . Evander currently uses an ESCROW account.
